This weekend I’m heading down to London for Artrocker to do a feature on a rather brilliant band called Yer Beauties.
Part of me feels like I should be taking digital stuff as well, so I can get the normal gig and party pictures – document it in the way I would for work.
The other part though, feels like this is a bit of a cop-out, and makes everything more formal than it should be. It sounds stupid, but I’d rather just take my film cameras, but I find it hard to push back against that sort of.. expectation that you place on yourself to always get top quality digital coverage… even when it’s not really needed.
Sometimes to be creative means fighting the urge to do things ‘professionally’.
So instead, I’ll be taking the Hasselblad and the Canon 7 with the 50mm f0.95, and hoping I can focus the bloody thing.
