At the end of last night I managed to smash the plastic hotshoe mount on my 430EX flashgun; I only realised when I turned up for another job tonight, pulling it out the bag to see the damage.
Good job my other flashgun was just a quick taxi ride away then. The 580EX II, which conveniently has a metal attachment which doesn’t look like it snaps all that easily.. Even with the sort of abuse that I’ll inflict upon it.
This is just another one of the many reasons that you should actually pay a proper rate for a real photographer, and not just some guy that will do it for cheaper/free/sexual favours
Real photographers have backup gear, and won’t leave you in the lurch when something inevitably breaks down.
But hey, who wants to pay for that sort of thing?
