Edinburgh. Home to the largest arts festival in the world. Also… under an hour from Glasgow. Alas, it took me far too long to appreciate the Fringe. It was always something… ‘over there‘, filled with artsy-farty types and tourists. Not for the likes of us.
Thankfully, I have seen the light, and begun to realise how great it is to be so close to a month-long event that people from all over the world pay through the nose to attend. Sure, the streets might be filled with inconsiderate idiots that do things like stand in the middle of the stairs at Waverely on their phone and get annoyed when you suggest it’s not the smartest choice… but there is also a ton of life breathed into the city, with weird and wonderful acts and weird and wonderful freaks everywhere. Now, I try to make it through a few times annually, to catch some shows, take some pictures, and enjoy the fact that you can drink alcohol in the street legally.
Here are a few shots. Taken on the Praktika FX2 with Kodak Gold 200.
