South Korea 2024 – 35mm

In the Autumn of 2024 I travelled to South Korea after spending three weeks in Tokyo. I had been to both countries before, but never on the same trip, and to be honest – I was kind of worried that after such a great time in Japan, that the latter half of the adventure would be something of a let-down comparatively. Thankfully, that very definitely wasn’t the case. Over the next fortnight or so, Grace and I explored the alleys of Seoul and Busan; drinking and eating our way through as many bars and markets as we could manage – soaking up the atmosphere both figuratively and literally, as we braved the alternating extremes of torrential rain and scorching sun.

I shot liberal amounts of film during our time there, and in something of a testament to Leica’s durability, my M6 worked flawlessly, despite taking a real battering. Even though I got through more 35mm than I’ve ever used on a single trip, I found myself unable to curate things or ascribe any meaningful words in a way that would adequately do the people, place, or experiencse any justice. Thus, I ended up paralysed with indecision and procrastination.

Rather than try to find the perfect presentation… the time has come to just share the pictures. So without any additional commentary, here they are.
