A few days ago, Grace and I got married in a wee hall up on the East Coast of Scotland.
With only one of us working, we don’t have a whole lot of cash – so went down the DIY route – hiring out a place and getting friends and family to pitch in and help DJ, take pictures, etc. To be honest, even if we had all the money in the world, we’d probably still have done something pretty similar, as it fitted our personalities better than some pre-packaged deal.
One of our pals from down south said it was ‘the drunkest wedding I have ever been to’ – which goes some way to explaining my lack of memory.
We had very talented friends taking the ‘official’ photographs on the day, but I can’t imagine going through such an important occasion without taking any shots at all… so I snuck in the RX100 and cracked it out after a few whiskies. There aren’t many of me and Grace together in here, so if you’re looking for the good stuff you’ll need to wait… or check out the awesome pictures from our pal Lee here. This is the behind the scenes look at the wedding, and the day after when a bunch of us got together for a lunch to chase away the hangovers.
Most of these were taken by me on a Sony RX100, but judging by the amount of selfies in there, other people got in on the act as well. Additionally, there are some shots taken by Lee and Gordon with my Leica M8 – 50mm f0.95.
Enjoy. A fuller blog will be up to accompany the ‘actual’ wedding photos in a bit. You can download the full 300 odd pictures from these sets displayed here to find yourself.
The top half are all shot with the Sony RX100.
Easily one of the best compact digital cameras you can buy just now.
