Since I started shooting street pictures on film again, I’ve gone off doing so on digital. While small, quiet cameras are great for candid shots, they also mean that you (well, I) end up leaning towards discretion rather than composition… where just getting a picture feels like a result, even if it’s not especially interesting. Compounding that, wide angle shots from the hip can often end up looking samey, and they also don’t really have the same impact in somewhere like Glasgow where the streets are big enough for people to be spread out.
